Terms of Service
Last updated : 26 October 2026
These terms govern the use of passerellesmauritanie.com, the member area and related services (registrations, donations, messages, documents). By using the site you accept them. For members, the Statutes, Internal Rules and Charter of Passerelles Mauritanie also apply.
1. Purpose of the site
The site presents the citizen movement Passerelles Mauritanie, its Passerelles, projects, news and events, and gives members a space to join, take part, vote, share documents and contribute. It is published by the Passerelles Mauritanie association, Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
2. Accounts and membership
- Registration is open to adults who share the values of the Charter. Information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
- Applications are reviewed by the Secretariat; members-only content opens after approval.
- Your account is personal: do not share it; you are responsible for its use.
- Roles (member, Passerelle lead, editor, Secretariat, Bureau, administrator) and document access levels are granted by the association according to each function’s needs.
3. Account security
- Choose a long, unique password (at least 12 characters) and never share it — the association will never ask for it.
- We recommend turning on two-step verification, strongly advised for Bureau and administration roles.
- Report any suspicious use promptly to contact@passerellesmauritanie.com.
- You must not bypass access controls, test the site’s security without written permission, automate sign-ups or sign-ins, or harvest member data.
4. Code of conduct
Exchanges (comments, messages, proposals, documents) must remain respectful, lawful, consistent with the Charter and the movement’s non-partisan nature. Forbidden in particular: insulting, defamatory, discriminatory or hateful content; partisan propaganda; spam and advertising; breaching others’ privacy or intellectual property; publishing third parties’ personal data. Moderators may hide content and the association may suspend an account under the Internal Rules.
5. Member content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant the association a free, non-exclusive licence to host, display and share it for its activities, for the duration of your membership and in its archives. You confirm you hold the rights to the content and files you share.
6. Documents and confidentiality
Documents are classified by access level (public, members, leads, Bureau, administrators). A restricted document must not be shared outside its circle without the Bureau’s consent. The association’s official positions are expressed only by mandated persons (Internal Rules, art. 11).
7. Donations and dues
- Online payments are processed by Stripe; the association neither sees nor stores your card data.
- Dues amounts are set by the General Assembly.
- Donations fund the association’s activities; their use is reported on the Transparency page and to members.
- A donation is normally final; for an obvious error (amount, duplicate), contact us within 30 days for a refund.
8. Intellectual property
The name, logo, emblem, texts, visuals, photographs and design of the site are protected. Any reproduction or reuse beyond personal use requires the association’s written consent, unless stated otherwise (e.g. public documents shared for distribution).
9. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the site available, accurate and secure, but cannot guarantee it at all times. The site is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, the association is not liable for indirect damages arising from its use, service interruptions or content published by third parties. Links to external sites are not endorsements.
10. Suspension and closure
You can delete your account at any time from “My data”. The association may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, the Charter or the Internal Rules, after inviting the person to explain themselves, except in urgent cases.
11. Personal data
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
12. Changes
These terms may change. The update date appears at the top of the page; significant changes are announced to members. Continuing to use the site after publication means you accept them.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Mauritanian law. In a dispute we favour an amicable solution, including the mediation provided for in the Statutes; failing that, the courts of Nouakchott have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence.
